Just before halloween and friend of was in need of some Zombie protection. We figured a Louisville Slugger coupled with a blade was a good way to decapitate the creatures. I built him a prototype out of mild steel (the blade was not shapened) Anyway...it was just for fun. Yes there are design flaws. It is what it is. Enjoy.Full build pictures are at http://gordsgarage.wordpress.com/201...ghts-for-food/Gordhttp://gordsgarage.wordpress.com/

Reply:ok... so I'll admit, my friends and I are nerds. That being said, I've already been told by several that I am at the top of their lists for people to find if and when an zombie apocalypse does accure. I'm sure that come the colapse of mankind and the deteriation of humanity those of us who have useful trades will come in quite handy. Personally I like to keep myself well rounded in my knowledge of custruction, fabrication, electrical, and weaponry. I like to look at the usefullness of a weapon. it's benefits and its limitations. This for example. is a great "prop" weapon. it's got the look, and the "wow" factor. but it's practicality is non-existant. the weight alone is enough to make it something that gets left behind. The average heavy bat is approximately 36 oz. the plate Is essentially doubling that weight or more. then you add the fact that the weight isn't balanced and is concentrated off the center of the handle and it throws it all off. making it just as much a danger for the user as it is the zombie. Damn, Now I'm going to have to make a few  "prop" weapons. I'm got some friends that might even pay me for them...There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:If you take it to the baseball diamond next spring, when you hit the ball with that edge, wouldn't it make it tougher for the opposing team to try to catch two halves instead of one whole ball. And if they throw it to a base man he would have to have both pieces to be considered an out. Otherwise it would only be a half out, then what? And if you bunt and the ball splits about half way thru and clenched down on the blade you could run the bases carrying the bat with the ball stuck to the bat(home run on a bunt).

Reply:ok fine....i'll just steal the neighbor kids little red wagon and load it with lithium batteries. it sucks that MW3 doesn't have the zombies and the ray gun. my 13 yr old boy and i celebrated veterans day by playing MW3 from 7am friday till 2am saturday non stop. he made it to 4 star general but i only made brigadier general. bet i would have done better with a ray gun. that would have been more unrealistic though lol.225NT bobcatAEAD200LEScott 125mm175, mm252 w 30A, PT225mm211, TA 181iHyper Therm 380, cut master 529100X & XX, Digital Elite6 Victor setssmith little torch, meco midget kalamazoo band sawsteel max saw evoulution circular sawVery kool!  I'm stuck with a slingshot! Reply:Originally Posted by DSWPersonally never been a big fan of the .30 cal Browning mg's myself. The ANM2's go thru ammo too fast, the M1917 and other water cooled variants are too heavy, and I don't care for the pistol grip on the M1919 models. I wouldn't mind one of the Israeli M1919 based Browning's with the spade grips in 7.62 NATO however. I prefer the BAR or M1 Grand in .30 06. I'll take an M2 .50 cal Browning in a heart beat however. If you do swing by I'm all set for you however. Only have one belt for the .30 BMG, but I've got plenty of loose .30 06 or clipped rounds for the M1 we could use. Most of what's belted up is in  7.62, so bring your M60, MG42, or M240 and we are good to go! Got a heck of a deal years ago on some shorts of belted 7.62 for plinking ammo and the belted .30 06 was another cheap deal I couldn't pass up. 200 rounds of AP for less than I could get the powder and primers for at the time. And no, most of that is used brass or reloading components in the cans in the background.
