I have a Thermal Arc 185amp inverter tig. currently use a CK17 flex head air cooled torch and thumb slider control. it's a tig/stick machine, it's gas connection is a seperate hose on the face of the welder, not through the 1/2" DINSE I am buying a CK200 flex head water cooled torch and lead kit. Flexible Torch Pkg, W/12.5' SuperFlex Cables [CK-212SF FX] - $128.63 : Arc-Zone.com, The Welding Accessory Experts I see water cooled dinse connectors, but my question is: do I want/need a water cooled DINSE connector? 1/2" dinse seems prettty big dinse for that machine, the current one is of course not cooled and it's fine. Can I just take my current DINSE connector off of my air torch lead and hook it to my new water torch lead? Or do I have to buy the $50 water cooled connector.I plan to run a total loss tap water system for now. very very occasional use. Thanks, Dan
Reply:Yes you need a w/c dinse plug because your power cable is also your water return line. |
