I am going to weld some grade 9 Ti tubing, 1/8" wall and less. What filler rod is recommended. I've looked at some of the tables and ERTi-9 is recommended but you can also use lower grades. Would ERTi-2 work?
Reply:ERTi-2 is the most common grade for titanium welding. Unless you are welding on a critical structural component, I would use 2. Otherwise, spring for the 9.
Reply:Finally found a place that sells ERTi-9. $583/lb I talke to a couple of guys welding Grade 9 Ti and they are using ERTi-5 ELI. |
