my first stainless mini project / practice drill

My first endeavor into stainless. I used the 1/8 wall stainless tube i found in the fire sale bin at speedy metals, welded it to a piece of 1/8 inch plate, good drill to learn that pesky fillet weld technique. I shined it up and made it look cool. You can put pencils in it. Or pens. Sharpies too i suppose. My wife just rolls her eyes. Attached Images
Reply:Looks like it could be mounted on the gunwale and used for a rod holder!  By the way, I get the 'eye roll' a lot from my wife, too.
Reply:OOOH SHINEY!!! Looks good from here, and it does look like it could be a rod holder. If my ol' lady doesn't roll her eyes at me at least once every couple of days, I'd think she was sick.If I knew that I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself

Reply:Looks good, I too thought it was a rod holder. Here is a pic of my first S/S project; its a foot switch for an electric crab pot puller. I should have spent more time on the polishing, but its going to be sitting on the floor of a boat in an ocean enviornment. Attached Images
