What size wire should I use in my 3 month old Millermatic 252? All my welding is on 3/16 or smaller. I have been using .035 and haven't been real happy with the results.I haven't been using the welder setting charts that came with the welder. For example, if I am welding something 1/8 I go up half way between 1/8 and 3/16.Thanks, Jack
Reply:I like .035 for a general wire use size. I have never had issues. The lowest i went with it was 18 ga and it was fine.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:The MM252 will weld anything with .035 just beautifully. You need to play with it more to find the "sweet spot"ɹǝʌo ǝɯ lloɹ 'sıɥʇ pɐǝɹ uɐɔ noʎ ɟı
Reply:Jack, Slap some .030 on there, I garentee it will run better fore you, esp. since you are welding smaller stuff.
Reply:I use a miller 252 daily with .035 for a wide range of material thicknesses. I would suggest that you consult the guide inside the front panel, it is very accurate. Then just work on technique. I use 18.4/ 260(with 75% argon, 25% co2) settings for anything from 1/16"+. Heavy material needs higher setting but that particular setting is good for me most of the time, I just adjust travel speed and gun angle to suit the situation. Reply:if u use .030 you will have to increase you wire speed slightly .i run .035 in my little lincoln weld pak and i prefer it over the.030.the.035 should give great results. adjust your tecnique a little. kind of a big machine for doing small stuff like that unless your doing mig.lincoln weld pak 100 hdlincoln ranger 225gxt ac/dcoxy/acetylenepuroxcw202 victor fc100harris model 85harrismodel 16oxweld w24roxweld w17 |
