Picked up my new Syncrowave today, got it moved in and hooked up this evening and had some time to play around with it.  I started with DC on some mild steel, and plan on practicing mainly on steel until I get proficient at laying beads.  I did pull out some alum scraps and try a few beads in AC, and was pretty happy with the results.I'm really new to Tig, I'm currently enrolled in a welding class as part of my degree program, so I've had a chance to spend some time on the Tig machines there and ask tons of questions but thats about it.I did notice I have some interference issues, hopefully that can be solved with some extra grounding.  I noticed my flourescent lights flicked during arc starts sometimes, and my plasma table was jogging on its own when I had left the power supply on.  If anyone has reccommendations on proper grounding to help eliminate the interference I'd like to hear them.Squeezed into place in my tiny shopFirst beads on alum with it
Reply:I like the 8' copper grounding rod with a ground wire clamped to it system.....I went through 5 message recorders before I realized it was from the RF the welder was putting out.....I guess aprox...  50' radius from the machine will dick up any electronics stuff unless they are set up to reject it.....soak the ground a few days before hammering in your ground rodmakes things much easierLast edited by B_C; 02-23-2011 at 10:08 PM.  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
