Reply:Thanks! I was just clued in on how to do that! Sorry! I can learn!
Reply:What's the maximum thickness can you bend with that tool?
Reply:That curve in the other thread looks really nice and smooth. It possible for you to upload some pics through the whole bending process, I'm trying to see what the other angle on the plate is for and why the need for the die to have the bolt through it (maybe to change out for different ones?? Thanks for your help. I'm a newby and really enjoy this site.
Reply:I put the angle on the other side so i can reverse the piece if space constraints require it. All pieces are bolted loosely so they self center and swivel to center themselves. In addition, the pieces can be replaced with different pieces to acccominate different work pieces. The tube is marked every inch and advanced to the next mark and bent. As i get to the end of the piece, the lever arm is too short so i have to reverse the piece and bend from the other end. Despite all this, each piece comes out slightly different than the others, but they can be adjusted easily by swiveling the die to the flat side and unbending where needed. It is a little time consuming but this was made from the scrap pile and it costs less than a real live tubing bender. |
