I have a stator that I am trying to reinforce. It has a metal cup with a metal plate riveted to the back of it. It has been some sort of zinc/galvanized coated and it is impossible to get it out from in between the plates. I am trying to give this piece just a little more strength and a bond beyond just the rivets. I tried brazing one which worked somewhat but naturally it was very messy and not very pretty. On top of that it's really putting more heat into the part than I want. I am thinking solder will give me plenty of strength if I can get it to stick. The regular plumbing solder I had laying around definitely won't suck into the joint. Do you guys think acid core solder will do the trick? Or am I just better off burning it all off and trying to braze the next one?Lincoln precision TIG 275Millermatic 140 MIG
