When I got my PT185, the guy gave me this stuff called CHEM SHARP tungsten electrode sharpener, made by Dynaflux, INC.Directions: pointing tungsten using tig torch as heat source. Extend tungsten stick out approximately 1" beyond cup. Short out tungsten against ground clamp work piece until glows cherry red, approximately 3/8" up from tip. Quickly immerse the heated tip approximately 1/4" deep into this product repeatedly until desired point is formed. If desired point is not yet formed, quickly re-immerse tungsten into the product. If reaction does not restart repeat procedure. Anyone know about this stuff or use it? It looks like salt in a glass jar. Needless to say, I am a little hesitant to short out my new welder until the tungsten starts glowing red.
