I always wanted adjustable legs on our docks to make working out of the ponds easier when the water went up or down from nominal work height. One of the problems is we can't have any sharp edges or protrusions sticking out that can catch our waders or nets and make a hole. I came up with these quick little deals, all stainless except for the legs and carriage bolts.
Reply:why that vs a floating dock? There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:I fabricate quite a few docks every summer for local resorts. I use slip collars on the posts something like yours but on the corner posts I mount small 600# cable winches & use locking bolts on the center posts. Due to changing water levels can level up a dock in minutes while standing on it, loosen the locking bolts on the center posts, make your height adjustments on the 4 corners with your winches & you're done.

Reply:Originally Posted by VPTWell I haven't actually tried them yet but I had in mind holding the dock at the level you want with one hand while tightening the clamp with the other hand. The docks are only 6x3.5' and holding one end up isn't very hard.We normally only have to adjust the height once a month or so.

Reply:Originally Posted by 37ford4drwell its all going to freeze and be unpleasant to adjust unitl the water warms upthe docks at the parents lake house in Pa are floating on styrofoam, we use to take them out in the winter, but about 15 yrs ago we just started leaving  them in all year long and we are talking NE Pa.  they are similar 2x6 construction that i made in 1985.  i would like to make some aluminum ones that float on those big black plastic floating devices....then i would have a reason to buy that spool gun....
Reply:Originally Posted by VPTYes it all freezes up but if the clamp is out of the water (under the dock) it should still be adjustable. If the clamp was in the water for sure it would all be froze up with no chance of adjusting it..
