For you Welders that had to leave town how did you do it? Almost all places want weld test so do you just pack and go place to place till some one took you? I wanna work for a ship builder if i cant get in to the Iron Workers.
Reply:The contractor calls sets dates for testing . We drive out to the locating the day before then test in the morning. If we pass we get the work if we fail we come back home and its a very quiet and long ride home.
Reply:Very very long trip home. Sometimes these inspectors forget were trying to make a living and provide for our families. Yet they continue to be assholes. Usually that's how its done is by appointment like jalapeno said.

Reply:Is there a fee you have to pay to test? I can't see them making the testing material available to everyone, at no charge. Heck, if that's the case, where do I sign up?"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:The company provides the money for testing. The testing facilities provide the materials
Reply:You would figure if the tester lets too many good guys go that he'd be out of a job.. Wonder what happens if he can't find anyone |
