Hi all,I am helping a good friend set up his Snap on MM140SL MIG machine to weld aluminum. He needs a teflon liner for the gun. Does anyone know where I can find one? I looked on Snap on's site and they don't sell liners. They sell the diffusers, tips, nozzles but a note states that if it is not on the page, then it's no longer being sold by them. This sucks!!Anyone?Any help will be appreciated,Thanks,Tony
Reply:I wonder if they ever had a teflon liner?? Is this the machine? If it is here's a statement from their glossy sales info. "With the optional FLEXTIG25, TIG WELDS 18 GA. THRU 1/4" STEELS (NO ALUMINUM)"..http://www.800abcweld.com/store/?crn...=1&action=show"The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:Hello Sandy,That's the machine. I got their phone number from your link and will call them later today to see if it is available. Thanks for the lead,Tony
Reply:I just remove the old liner on "mystery machines" and play matchup. The brass doohickey that plugs into the gun is what matters. Post a pic of gun and liner.
Reply:For MIG:"The unit can be used to produce high quality welds on steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. An Optional MHG5B Spool gun is available for welding aluminum."I guess that would be your answer. A spool gun.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:Hello all,I was able to locate a teflon liner for this welder from the link Sandy posted: http://www.800abcweld.com/store/?crn...=1&action=showThe tech suggested the spool gun route as he expects we will have trouble with birdnesting. Thanks everyone for your input.Tony |
