Reply:I've never used Red on a transformer (I would like to just to see for myself how well it works). But when i use it on my inverter i get really bad results almost no matter how run my machine. When im welding i can see the tip doing weird stuff. It usually gets a tiny ball (sometime balls) that always look like they are hanging on by a thread like a dew drop. and often it spits them off. but as soon as i kill the arc the tip settles to what looks like a decent tip. Do you ever see this when you use it? I ran out of 3/32 orange the other day and switched to red and the rest of my welds the whole day sucked (to my standards), it was like night and day.www.performancealuminumfabrication.com

I know you are on the underside of the world down there, but I didn't realize on top of driving on the opposite side of the road, and having water go down the drain the opposite way, you also swap the dimensions on 2x4's. Also thought you all used the darn metric system. A 4mm x 2 mm or even a 4cm x 2 cm board makes for mighty tiny drawings.

Reply:Zap. you always post good looking TIG welds.  I to was a little surprised on the initial amps but I believe understand your concept.  I have tried the same approach, but not at the high amps you employ.  I am not sure what my little 185 reduces to at partial pedal, but I am going to try and see how it goes...or how fast I will have to move the tungsten   Thanks for posting.GeezerPower Mig 255C185 TIGBlue 175 MIGRanger 8 Kohler 20HP1974 5K Lincoln/Wisconsin Powered (Cherry)Victor/Harris O/AK 487 Spool Gun
