New Boots

I know that this has been asked before but I am looking for a new work boot. This is where I differ. I want a cowboy boot and it must be safety toe of some kind. The problem is is that I am welding the inside of large tanks. Picture two tanker trailers stacked on top of each other. And when I have to weld the seams I have to pretty much stand on a slant. I have cheap Brahmas from walmart right now (I needed steel toes in a hurry for my last job) and they just slide. I am a fan of Double H's (own two pair), had Ariats (they were nice) and have a pair of Justins (daily wear) and my beautiful Tony Lamas, but Ive never had to have my boots have a really awesome grip. Any suggestions? I am looking at some Double H's with the AG7, looks impressive. Any input on that particular tech? I prefer either pointed or square. Never cared for round toes.

Reply:Take a piece of tar paper in the tank with you. When you need to stand on the slant, just step on the tar paper a few times. It gets all the slick dirt off of your shoes and gives you a good grip.

Reply:I did look at those but i was leaning towards the work westerns. And I said square because its rare to find pointed or snip in safety toe. The only squares I own are my Double H Harnesses which were my first pair I ever bought.http://www.doublehboots.com/Product?stockNo=2282
Reply:Cat branded boots have a nice "cowboy" boot with good grip and steel toe.  I'd get a replacement set of insoles though.  Mine weren't too comfy at first.

Reply:I'm not a big fan of the cowboy boots.. a buddy of mine has a pair of Ariats though and they're pretty sweet. I'd go with those.
