hi all, intermediate level welder here am fairly good on the flat but need to improve skills and techniqes in all other positionswhat material should I buy to practice on?, even though its a waste of steel have to learn with somethingwas thinking of getting ~150mm pipe 4mm thick maybe? cut into ~20mm lengths and bevelled ready or is there an easy method of bevelling it myself other than hacking it with the angle grindershould get good value out of these samples as would allow keyhole run with a 2.5mm at ~80amps DC and then capping with 3.2mm at ~120amps DCnot sure if pipe is right for someone who is just graduating from flat have been advised maybe to get flat ~3-4mm thick and start on vertical up and underhand?anyone know of any videos/DVDs or books for instrucion for someone like me at intermediate level? not easy interpet instructions, video much easier, 1 to 1 tuition better again
Reply:Get some 6mm plate to practice your roots, cheaper than pipe and more forgiving---get good using the plate and then graduate to pipe.6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers
