welding table build

im building a welding table for my shop an her some pic but im having trouble with it cuz im using a 3/4 inch plate of steel that i fon in my basement i tried to weld 2x2 square stock but im just not getting penetration i thing it my welder cuz it just a Lincoln pro mig 140 . what do i need to do it with or any tips ? Reply:Make the base strong and don't worry about the 3/4" plate.  It ain't moving anywhere. Reply:i was going to weld the lags to the plate but now im thinking i need to build a hole frame and bolt the plate to to it i got to get some more tubing so i will post more then

Reply:Lose the Philips cross bar and the diagonal above it so you can sit at the table. Also, put it on locking swivel casters, you'll thank me later.Bolt the table top on with 1/2" tapered/flush head bolts. theres no way a 120v mig is going to burn into 3/4" plate.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Do  you have your + - set correctly for the wire you're using? IE Electrode + for use with gas and Electrode - for fluxcore.
