Here is my latest project (it took about a year.. I got a bunch of irons in the fire). This is my biggest build to date.  I even built a tubing bender to make the cage and a sheet metal brake for the floor pan.I never thought of taking pictures of the build in the process. I got the plans from Ubuilditplans.com http://www.ubuilditplans.com/NEWUBUILDITPHOTOS.html The plans are very well done and customer support is fantastic. I took it for a shake down run last night. It is good and fast!!I now have a new problem. I built it mostly for my son but he has grown 6.5 inches in the last 9 months. He will soon out grow it! Reply:I would lengthen the frame a foot and a half where he sits, then lenthen the roll cage part above his head (where is level, before it angles down) Other than that, nice work, she is a thing of beauty.
Reply:p.s. nice work on the steering!
Reply:That's a cool ride for a kid. I bet it was not only fun building but also seeing the grin on your sons face.Treasure it man.Tim Beeker.
Reply:Alrighty. I like it. You're either going to have to extend that cart, sell it and build a bigger one or put bricks on your boys head so he doesn't grow. "The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:Darn nice build.  Looks like the yougn one is happy with it too.  Great pics and great project!!!BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys?  Trade?
Reply:Looks good. Great father son project. Your son looks plenty happy!A year or two ago, my son thought it was cool to wear my clothes... but now I have them all back... he grew right past me. He's 15 and 6' something. Growing like a weed.
Reply:so you're relying on the tires for the suspension? Nice build. Any pics of the process? There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Yes Tire for suspension. (Big low air pressure)No build pictures.I think I will build another one someday, with suspension and two seats in the future. Thanks for the nice comments.Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:I have a Powerhorse generator..Good engines!!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:The powerhouse makes power! Go my 200lbs down the road fast. I'm looking forward to mud!!!!!!!!!Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:Nice.    For the 'kid growing taller' factor, that just means you get to stretch the go-cart chassis.  Cut-splice-weld.    The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:I got run over in one of those once..Maybe as a thought you should put side nets on so if it does go over you stay inside..Seatbelt is one thing but....Even better I have a 5 point harness you can have if you want..Came out of the 'Hoss..Was gonna put it in my old plow truck..Outdated for drag racing applications but for that?More than enough..It's yours if you want it.....zap!Last edited by zapster; 01-30-2012 at 06:19 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Thanks so much. It has a 5 way harness installed. He is good about wearing it and a helmet. Alot smarter tahn i was at his age. Once again thanks for the offer.Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:-1 point for visible zip ties, otherwise it looks great!  The angle to the mount for the shoulder strap looks a little steep ( should be within 15 degrees of horizontal ), but for this application, probably doesn't matter.  If it runs into anything that hard, other problems inherent to being a kart will be worse.  I might add another crossbar a few inches above that one, and mount there... spinal compression is not good, and I don't see any real downside to doing so.__David Hillman
