picked a new one up at an auction recently . . for power it has a 6ft cord with 19 pin connections on both ends , I know one goes on the wire feeder , the question is where or what do I plug the other one into . if I can I would like have the wire feeder as a stand alone and not have to purchase a fancy power source I wont use . Is there such a thing as an adapter with a connecting 19 pin socket plus a plug on the other end to plug into a 120 outlet . it seems simple but is it . Also can I use flux core on this machine . help would be appreciated . yes the feeder runs on 120 volts
Reply:A wire feeder needs the fancy power source.Although you don't need a fancy one but you still need the power source but I don't know if you can use the TA feeder you have with a different brand power source.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:The power source supplies welding power the 120v is control power as opposed to 12 or 24v control power. 120v runs the meters and the drive roll motor only.thermal arc mst400, va4000 feeder, lincoln 175 min, victor torches, miller s32p feeder, air arc k4000 for work.

Reply:That feeder is meant to be used with Thermal Arc power supplies that have a 19-pin connection. It may be possible to adapt it to work with Miller power sources but it would require a custom cable.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Dea at Justarc can set you up with a cable.....http://www.justarc.com/The VA-2000 is a real good feeder, that you can use Miller drive rolls with. Just have to use the Thermal guide tubes. It has a four position run-in speed, so it will adapt to other power sources pretty well. Probably could not use the remote feeder voltage without some pot matching/etc..With a Thermal-arc Late model Sanrex inverter power source, might be one of the best short-arc machines you will ever weld with. Reply:It will be worth it being able to use wire and stick they are smooth machines. Keep a eye out thermal arc power sources sometimes go cheap but any name brand power source should work.thermal arc mst400, va4000 feeder, lincoln 175 min, victor torches, miller s32p feeder, air arc k4000 for work.

Reply:What Miller drive rolls are you comparing them too? I use them on my Thermal ultra feed 1000 feeder,(Same basic feeder as the VA-2000) and my friend uses Thermal rolls on his Miller #60 series feeder. Does not matter if it's a 4 roll or two roll feeder from either company.
