Hi all,Totally new to the site but what a great site!! Anyways i am hoping you all can help me out. I am looking to meet up with a seasoned pipe welder for a cup of coffee to talk with him about becoming a pipe welder. I have been on the custom fab side (automotive and aviation) of welding for some years now but have always been drawn to pipe welding. I would just like to meet with someone who pipe welds for a living and discuss possible career choices. I am considering taking my cert tests and getting into pipe welding but would like to know more about the process, type of work here in Colorado and pay scale.Any advice would help!ThanksSean

Reply:Gas line welding is going to pay around 40hr on the arm 15/hr on the rig and 100 day in per diem. Only way to get certs for most of it is to test for the gas company you would be working for.
Reply:Go into high country gas there in rifle and ask for either jason shoop or Aaron Harlan. Both taught me and are great welders. |
