Anyone in Maine want to weld my truck frame?

My 2000 Ford Ranger has a thin spot with a small hole in the frame, the rest of it appears solid (smacking it with a 20 oz hammer).  The hole is 1/8" tall and probably an inch long.  Due to the steel being thin around it I would probably patch it with a piece of steel at least a foot long and most of the frame rail height high (6" C-channel).  Anyone feel like doing this?  I live in Norridgewock and don't have the expertise or proper welder to do it myself.

Reply:If you were closer I would take care of it...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:One of the things you have to closely check in automotives is the crack spidering out so you may have to consider some other options if you find this, acid wash the frame and look close. Best Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 4
Reply:I would guess the problem area is on the drivers side between the cab and spring hanger, rangers are known to have issues here. Once you get digging into it you may find that its much worse than expected, even to the point that the truck is not worth repairing.  what i have seen is the crossmembers are rotten and the frame flexes more than it should and starts cracking at the weakest point, ussually where the gas tank is against the frame rail.Briggs weldnpower 225/210/cvLn-25 suitcaseMillermatic 130
