So I got the fibre metal pipeliner.  Its great, except something isnt right with the headgear.  It has no "stop."  When I flip it down it goes till hit hits my neck.  This is an issue when Im welding in any position besides looking straight forward.  On the headgear it has a diagram and one part is labeled,  "Stop position on right joint only."  This part isnt in my head gear.  Is the helmet missing something or am I just not going about adjusting it right?
Reply:This is how mine is setp, pin in the hood and a piece with a stop.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Oh yeah, I cut mine down......Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:That helps a lot.  Mine is missing that.  Has the little white pin but no black piece.  I was planning on cutting mine but have no idea if I even need to or not since so far it hits my neck no matter what.   Thanks for the pics
Reply:When your in a $hitty position and the helmet is choking you, you will want at least 1.5" cut out of it.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:I've had good luck with this outfit buying parts for my Pipeliner hoods. If you can't find it here, you may have to call. Very helpful girls there! http://www.bettymills.com/shop/produ...rds=fibremetalDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:CEP, I saw them whn I was looking for a lens retainer, but my LWS came through for less money.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:They're the only place I could find the retainer clips. I bought a hand full from them. Then I was cleaning out my Dad's barn after he died, and found some old Jackson hoods I had left there years ago. Cut down the metal retaining clips from the Jackson hoods, now use them in my Pipeliners.  Attached ImagesDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:My LWS got them for me for  $2.45 a piece, I ordred 10. Just got 2 vintage Omni View Gold #9 lenses, I am in heaven.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:I've been using these ArcOne auto lens for a couple years now, really like them. Now If I could only remember I don't have to lift my hood every time when I'm done making weld, and moving to another location. Old habits are very hard to break! http://www.arc1weldsafe.com/auto-darkening-filters.htmlDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:I cant use an auto dark, I still flip it up and flip it down. I have a Miller elite on the truck, never use it, it is now my 4 year old sons.....Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:I was getting to where I couldn't see at all, I was buying every lens I could get my hands on. The ones from Phillips Safety, got some old Lincoln Super visibility which are very clear. Then had cataract surgery, like being born again. Never thought I'd like an auto lens, but these ArcOnes are very clear. http://www.phillips-safety.com/weldi...ng-lenses.html Attached ImagesDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:I will get a through the lens pic/vid of the Omni View, clear, not yellow, and you can see everything.....I snap them up every time I see them.....Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Seems as I've heard the name, but wasn't sure. I Googled them, is this what you're talking about? http://www.harrisproductsgroup.com/e...ld-Lenses.aspxDon’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400

Reply:Strange that you don't have the "stopper". The pin in Tozzi's hood doesn't come in the new models. There's a sort of flange on the inside hinge that hits the black stop instead, and it's only on the right side. Are you certain you just don't have the fitting right? If that little white pin is set too far to the left the hood will chop you in the throat every time. Now if it freely rotates in circles then you're definitely missing it.Also, it's pretty much a must to trim the bottom. I cut off maybe 2.5 inches to where the bottom is just below chin level, and strapped some leather there to protect my neck. I'm considering drilling holes and fitting the snaps in there instead of using duct tape.
Reply:A mod I think I would like.
