So today in the garage.... my ONE day per week to weld and fabricate and make as much noise as I want.... I took the below photo.......In looking at it..... I realized that this photo tells a story about my life..... at least the last 2 years of it anyway......So, here is what I see in this photo:- Xterra: Paid off- Harley: Paid off- Prius: for work.... purchased in August 2011- AC Arc welder..... 1944.... welds like a champ ......... I extended the leads........ see the blue tape..... .......... I forgot to remove the handle for the old stinger.. you can see it by the blue tape trapped on the lead....... so I bought a new 200 amp stinger instead of removing the tape......- My neighbors 110V MIG welder........ with welding leads on the bottom that have rotten rubber......- My daughters car seat.... the backup seat..... so it sits in the garage....- The wood bench that folds up into the wall.....- the metal bench... built with that little MIG 2 years ago before I knew my a-hole from a hole in the ground when it came to welding....- the red vise on the table that belonged to my wife's dad.... who died in 1984......- the little grey stereo from Brookstone that was a wedding gift for me and Peg in 2002.... ..... still works but I use Pandora mostly now..... but keep this thing on the wall because it was a gift.....- scrap and drop on the floor.....- stain that I have dripped on the floor while using the wood bench to stain the fence I am building in the back yard..... Reply:Nice to be setup in the garage. I just moved to Round Rock in November and the interior of the house commanded all my attention- BUT! That is coming to an end soon and THEN it is on to the garage to get my welders unboxed and ready to go. There is a fellow on this Forum that lives in Dallas that has a lot of steel to sell, who comes to Temple once a week. I posted an "I'm interested in some steel" msg tonight. Seeing as you are an Austinite..... perhaps we can arrange a group buy? Let me know. Can't wait to getting some FAB goingLast edited by WakonTonka; 03-18-2012 at 01:22 AM.Reason: idiotic grammar correctedThermal Arc 185 ACDCLincoln Weldpac 155

Reply:I have them on my list to check out. I used to get steel for $0.45/lb at Comal Iron in New Braunfels when I lived further South. Guess I will have to see how Westbrook is, probably this week. Itchin' 2 fabThermal Arc 185 ACDCLincoln Weldpac 155 |
