Not a welding question but more a forging question about Titanium

I have a 1" titanuim bar I want to forge one end for use as a pry bar. So i need to flatten it and give it a bend just like a traditional pry bar. Anybody have exp with doing something like this I'm worried if heating it and pounding it will make it brittle etc.
