The Mrs. needed a stand for two Christmas cactus plants. I needed some welding practice with a modified HF 151 (.030 flux-core wire, no gas). The stand was built out of 5/8 inch steel re-bar and 'slices' of steel fence posts. I got plenty of welding practice. The plants now have a good home....HF 151 Dual Mig Welder (with mods)Lincoln 225-S AC WelderBuffalo MM-1 Milling MachineCraftsman/Atlas 6 inch Metal LatheBuffalo RF-115 4 x 6 inch Band-Saw

Reply:And here I was going to compliment you on your nice plug weld and filing job!Great idea with the copp cap ends. Good FYI, regular JB weld can be powder coated. Not the quik JB though. Glad to see something other than 5000 little scrolls too!!!!! No offense to those that like then. I'm just sick of them. Originally Posted by GalaxiemanA very good question. The answer is NO and YES! Reply:SUPER JOB!!!!!!! I like the idea of the copper foot pieces. Even though the paint will wear off with time if exposed outside in the elements, the copper end caps will protect the steel rebar.
