has any one evey tried it? its a dc power source, looks doable. so am i wasteing my time trying it out ot what?

Reply:You need to understand whats going on. Yes they are both DC, but tig uses a Constant Current (CC) power source, FC or mig uses a Constant Voltage (CV) power source. It's why you can't run a standard wire feeder with a standard tig machine..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:DSW....you can run TIG on CV power supplies.However if it has a contactor in it you're asking for problems from the beginning. Get a TIG machine and go from there

Reply:I would think it would be easier to use semi batterys....Use a stainless pipe and vary the resistance. lol either way imo a cc welder is relatively easy to obtain for decent money. The problem i see with cv dont know if i am rite or wrong, your amperage would vary way to much to make it worth it?I forgot how to change this.
