We have a lincoln 255xt with the factory gun at work. I run .045 wire 99% of the time at 22-24 volts. The 250 amp gun gets hotter than normal to me,besides being worn out. Upgrading to a 400 amp gun wont hurt anything besides being able to handle the higher voltages and durability. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks for the help greg
Reply:I have a bernard S40 with rotateable neck and love it. Very well built guns, however a bit pricey
Reply:Im lookin at the Lemco 400. Love to have the bernard guns just too much $$$. Thanks for the input
Reply:Bernard guns sell for $100 on ebay all the time. I had a 400 amp gun oon my 250 amp machine for a while, but traded it to a buddy for a 300 amp gun. The 400 was too heavy for all day use for me. The 300 is a bit heavier than the stock guns but is a very nice gun and doesn't get too hot under heavy use.
Reply:I just bought a new Bernard 400amp 15 ft gun with miller end on ebay for $157 delivered today.. the Miller and Lincoln end guns usually go for a bit more than the other connector. Reply:http://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...0-45/e1201.pdfThere is a guy on ebay that sells these units.I just picked one up for $75.00 with free shipping . (350 amp/15 ft cable) He has two more, and I think he will post them soon. The only thing you will need is the 4 pin plug off of your current gun. This is the hook up kit that you need. I probably would just use the one that comes with it, and the Miller type 4-pin plug of your old gun.http://www.scottgrossstore.com/servl...nnector/DetailLast edited by Brand X; 08-06-2011 at 10:43 PM.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
Reply:I used a Magnum450 on my LN-25 with a Ranger 9 as a power source. Way more than the power source had, but I had it from 1997 until last month and the guy I traded it to is still using now. I always wondered why I didn't see more water cooled mig guns. It would be nice to have a light weight gun. Kinda like a water cooled tig torch.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:450 amp Tregaskiss Tough Gun. These are the guns of choice in the local welding schools because they take everything the students can dish out and keep on working.
