I have a need to make compound miter cuts in some 2" x 4" steel tube. Saw cutting is out of the question, so I made this adapter to fit my plasma cutter. The torch fits the adapter snugly with no need for a set screw, and it is adjustable 45 deg. left and right. Its nowhere near as clean or easy as a Haberle H90 coldsaw, but it didn't cost 14 large either. Attached Images

Reply:no pics yet in action, but I'll attempt a description....the torch goes in the hole, and the edge (left) of the base gets dragged along a straightedge. To adjust the angle, just loosen the setscrew and pivot the torch to the desired angle.
Reply:Gotta watch the auctions! I picked up my H350 for $280, probably the best money I've ever spent on equipment
Reply:Lucky guy! The H350 still won't do compound miters though |
