Airgas to buy out who next?

New guy here needs to buy an argon cylinder.  Been jerked around after some Linde cylinders I had became worthless a while back.  I have been getting my oxy- acetylene bottles exchanged at the local Napa store, no questions asked.   They have a decent price for a "customer owned" bottle and argon, especially compared to Airgas. I do not know who they get their gas from, maybe Matheson? There is a new Oxarc store 20 miles away, but I think they may be bought out by Airgas and I will get the runaround again. Any ideas?  Thanks

Then, while waiting for a lucky response from someone near you, I would get on the phone and start calling around and find out prices and cylinder policies. Reply:Why did your cylinders become worthless? Were they purchased from an individual? The Linde's are fairly easy to exchange.

Reply:Not sure, $15-$20 per cylinder, I think. Acetylene may be higher.

Reply:Swapped out a Linde, still good hydrostat, at Matheson for a C25, no problems.
Reply:Thanks ,guys.  Maybe it depended on where I was at the time.  It was a bottle I bought in Az. in the late 60's from Linde. I think I traded it for some stuff at a used tool place. Bought a bottle or bottles at Carquest who are no longer here. On my way to Oxarc tomorrow to find out more and get an assortment of tig filler rod.
Reply:Hello to everyone,               I swapped out an oxygen bottle that was out dated at a Napa store about 2 weeks ago. It cost me 15 dollars extra for being out of date.
