SA-250 continental diesel remote

Okay I know they want you to use 4 wires for the cables control kit but I'll just run another extention cord for power for now. I called cables and he told me to just use the black and white wires and wire them to match the black & white wires on the factory remote plug and disconnect the green wire that goes to the ground block. It doesn't work, do I need to disconnect the wires going to the receptical on my remote? Is that not the proper way to wire the 2 wires on the remote rheostat? It has the factory remote switch and had a round 3 prong outlet but non-twist lock I replaced it with a 20amp standard 110 plug.

Reply:Yes I'm positive it's a cables remote I've been using on my 67 200 for the past year. I wired the plug the same way cables wired the short pigtail coming out of the remote with the white wire on the ground and the black wire on the hot side of the outlet and hooked up the wires off the original plug according to the two wires coming off the rheostat from the machine through the factory remote switch and the wires for the remote

Reply:Thank you i think I'll take the kit off of my 200 and put the switch and orange receptical on the 250 like I should have done in the first place
