I wanted all my stuff on one cart, so I came up with a design, and then bought the materials. My son is taking welding (almost done) and needed a project, so it's a win/win for me. Hobart beta mig on the left, Dynasty 300 on the right with a coolmate under that. General tools box in the middle, oxy/acetylene on the end:I left space to access the wire spool on the end:Included a 50 foot 4-wire cable and 220vac grounded load center. Wound it all up on a garden hose hanger:Got those bottles well strapped in! Made a combo HD strap and goodies tray:This thing weighs about 1000lbs. 1/4in plate table top, 1/4in wall square tube and angled steel supports, 1/8in plate bottom. I used extra heady duty wheels and castors with roller bearings and grease zerks. If I was going to change something (right now), I'd want to add powered drive. Well, how did we do?Hobart BetaMig 250Miller Dynasty 200DX
Reply:Very nice! I like the idea of everything in one place and accessible. Good job!TodHH140HF 4x6 band saw (cut straight right outta the box!)"-Of all the things I've lost... I miss my mind the most."

Reply:You've done fine. Keep it on relatively flat and smooth surface and all is copacetic. After a second look, I might make a suggestion. Add a splash guard to the regulator stack side of the table, for sparks.  City of L.A. Structural; Manual & Semi-Automatic;"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. Reply:Neat,clean,compact...I really like the power arrangement setup..How about a little more info on that...looks interesting....
Reply:I know you guys sorta laugh at:" Another Welding Cart" but I gota tell you, they are getting better all the time. I am amazed at the thought put in to the design of some of these carts. The last few have been some of the best. If you can't find direction on designing a cart on this site, forgetaboutit. Nice job Acidrain.
Reply:Where did you get the red tool chest? How much does one like that cost? Im thinking of putting one under my welding table to store tig parts.
Reply:Thanks for the comments/tips.Excelent thought on the "splash gaurd" idea for the regs and hoses. It definately needs something... I'll have to think about that one a bit.The load center is a 50 amp box that has single phase 220vac in, and 220/110 vac out with breakers. I got a four wire cable (balony cord) from work, and added pig tales from my existing boxes (one at my house, and one at my garage) to plug into. I also added a three gang outlet box for the two different 220 recepticles, and a 110 to plug the power strip into. I know it's a little light for the welders... they recommend 60 amp service, but I've been welding with those a long time using a 50 amp and an even longer cord, so I'm going with it. I used a four-wire settup so that the cart could be grounded.I'm still a little fuzzy on the whole multiple welders thing... I search and read that as long as both work clamps are not attached to the table at the same time, no harm can come to the machine not being used. Obviously with only 50 amps available, I'm not using two welders at the same time anyway. But my biggest concern is reverse polarity tig welding... I hope nothing bad happens. As for the box... it's a Harbor Freight General tools side box... got it on sale for $180. It has full-pull roller glides and locks. I've got about $600 into it total.Last edited by Acidrain; 02-18-2010 at 10:30 PM.Hobart BetaMig 250Miller Dynasty 200DX

Reply:You didn't leave room for the powered drive set up. If you add one will it be electric or gas? You could extend it, add a generator, 240V 60 amp with electric drive and it would be totally self supporting and completely portable. Bigger wheels would be in order to make this work out. Other than that, all I see you need is a rack for the O/A hoses.
Reply:couldn't you fit anything else on that? A lathe or something?  Just kidding... very nice.Be nice and pay it forward.
