Reply:I bow hunt but never fished with a bow. Do you drop the lbs on the bow?Nice buildDave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:nice deck looks good, what watt bulbs are you running? yea you drop the poundage on the bow. I just use a youth bow and i think i have it set around 30lbs. here are a few pics of the first deck i built. Attached Images
Reply:The guy a purchase steel from is an avid bow fisherman. He said he started off from the bank with one spot light. As he grew by adding a boat and rigging it out with lights and generator; he eventually turned it into a business. Bow fishing is getting popular where I live. That's a hobby I would be afraid of trying; it looks way to addictive!
Reply:I've never done it but have always wanted to
Reply:No railings?? I haven't been for a cpl yes, but if I recall, bow-fishing involves a LOT of beer...??
Reply:You go at night? I did not know that.Dave ReberWadsworth Ohio
Reply:Neat-o! So are the lights to see the fish in the water or attract them??I must admit to chuckling at the combination of camo paint on the hull and all those lights......Is it not tipsy with the platform up that high?200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.
Reply:@miller210- the are 500W the geni is 3.5kw@bottlefed- no railings for now. we will be adding them after the spring and summer season. there usually is a lot of beer drinking, but these guys take it more serious and enjoy it for the sport. @bert- not tipsy at all the boat is 21' long and the front is where the deck is starts at 5.5' down to 5'. when it is out moving and people are on the platform they are under trolling motor power only. so moving slow. and yes the carp are invasive and the state wants them gone so you take as many as you can get and spread them over your fields for GREAT manure. the lights atract them at night but just because they are right under you doest make it super easy you got to remember that water refracts your image.
Reply:Thanks for the info. Sounds like fun. 200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.
