i was looking through a thread started by rick v about the cheaper inverter welders and noticed that in the lnk that he posted for teh century it says that it can be run off of a 20 amp breaker.  does any one have any experience with this welder to confirm this?    the reason i'm wondering is that i have a 5500 runnign watts (8250 surge) generator that has a 30 amp 230 volt rec. on it.  if the current draws for this machine are low enough to only need a 20 amp breaker, would there be any issues with running this machine off of the generator?  thanks in advance.
Reply:most inverters can run quite well off of a 30 amp generator at 230v.  depending on the size of the welder you may not be able to run at full amperage output of the welder.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:thats the part i can not find out.  what the amperage draw is at full output for this machine.  i was looking at the everlast 200 and it was about 40 amps of current draw at full load.  the 140 they had was 25.  it just seems hard to imagine a 20 amp breaker holding at full load.  it would be nice, because this would work perfect for me.  thanks for the info.
