Hi guys I'm new here I'm a 3rd year boilermaker apprentice and I built this fish tanks stand for a friend it's going to hold around 350kgs just in water I'm wondering what you think it's max load bearing capacity is it's the frame for the tank to sit on is made out of 30x30x5mm angle the legs are 25x50 rhs and there are stiffeners for the legs which are 25x25x3 shs the stand sits a meter high and 1110mm long 610mm wide Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkUsing Tapatalk
Reply:100-125 gallon. It'll hold it but I wouldn't do it like that. I'd use 6 legs of 2 x 2 x 3/16 and a 3 x 3/16 flat bar "band" all the way around leaving it 3/4 to 1" above the top of the legs.Plenty of tank support.Make damn sure it's dead nuts level(flat). If you aren't putting a shelf area below just support with some 3/4 black pipe.I watched a meathead sit a 75 on top of a crooked 1" box tube P.O.S. frame. Just before it was full it went off like a shotgun !Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
Reply:I'm not to good with imperial measurements I'm Australian haha but it's roughly 96 gallons plus rock sand coral and fish so max out and about 500kgs Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkUsing Tapatalk
Reply:And withe the frame it's pretty square and level it's gonna get marine ply wood out on it and also 3/8 styrofoam on it I know some imperial Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkUsing Tapatalk
Reply:That's a good size tank. Here's some images of some. Might get some ideas. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...ands&FORM=IGRE

Reply:I'd like to try a wrought iron stand that would look sick Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkUsing Tapatalk
Reply:Well got some bad news I'm going to have to modify the tank stand its going to hold max 250kgs here are some pics of it Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkUsing Tapatalk
Reply:Looks like workable design Keep in mind the shelves that hold the tanks need to be EXACTLY flat with no twists from corner to corner, or the tanks will experience stresses that could lead to leaks or failure once full.
