Spool Gun With Weldanpower 225

Can anyone give me some advice on the easiest way for me to have the ability to connect a spool gun to a Weldanpower 225.  The machine has CV, and I have been told that a WC-115a will work along with a Miller Spoolmatic 30S gun.  But I was wondering, is this my only option?  Would it be easier to invest in a Miller weldergenerator and go with the WC-24?Any advice is appreciated, I'm in dyer need of a mobile spool gun rig for aluminum since I've heard the LN-7 Ln-25 option for aluminum is not the best idea.  Just a dumb farmer here looking for answers.

Reply:I have both, the WC115A with a contactor with a 185 gun (I think) on the miller bobcat.  Now my newer Trailblazer runs the 30A gun through a WC24 controller, seems to have a better arc.  If you have a 14 pin plug, then I hear the spoolmatic 3 is a direct plug in, but I haven't tried it. If not, you will need not only the controller but the contactor and gas solenoid as well.
Reply:Thanks for your insite!  My Lincoln Weldanpower AC/DC 225, does not have the Miller 14 Pin plug, so I guess would need a control box with the gas solenoid, unless I can wire up my own 14 pin plug for my Lincoln.  Was just wondering if wc-115a will work flawlessly, or if there is another/better option.  Should I sell the old trusty Lincoln, and get a miller trailblazer with the wc-24? Reply:I would love to go with that option, but it seems that would be a needle in the haystack.Are there any other companies that make these control boxes with spoolguns for welder/generators? Reply:Duane, wouldn't any spoolgun work with a SGC100C or something similar?  I JUST got rid of mine!!!!!! I had a trailblazer, so I upgraded o the 30A with the WC24 controller. I was mistaken when I said I had the WC115A, I had the SGA100C.  Another too early in the morning brain fart.

Reply:I found a deal on a Miller XR-5 air cooler gun, with a miller XR Feeder.  Its an older push pull model.  The guy claims to have a contactor for the box and has had it hooked to a welder generator with CV.  Was wondering if anyone had experience with this, had any luck hooking these types of wire feeds with other than Miller welder generators.  He claims the contactor has a 14-pin miller plug, which goes to the feeder, and a 115VAC recepticle which would then go the the generator for the roller motors.duane.... please help.....Lincoln Weldanpower AC/DCLincoln LN-25Miller WC-115a Miller Spoolmatic 30aCheck out my youtube TV Channel

Reply:Dear Duane  I have a Weldonpower model  AC-225/DC 210 16 HP Briggs and Statton with vv/cv code 9113 serial a1088501 can I hook up a Magnum sg spool gun to it and if it's worth  the output for welding aluminum  . and how would I do it ? THANKS

Reply:I see that you referenced this to a Solderer I take that the maximum thickness would not very thick. What do you think the maximum thickness it would run? I already have the machine, gun, and the lines.
