stick welding with Dialarc

I recently acquired a Dialarc HF-P (serial No. HK 354326).  I don't know the age of it but it seems to be in good condition.  Until I hook up the TIG, I would like to use it as a stick.  Could someone tell me whee to connect the electroid and ground cables? Thank you.
Reply:For most rods you would hook the stinger (electrode holder), to the "+" or red terminal and the work (ground clamp), to the "-" or black terminal. Reply:Stick-man is right.  Much as it pains me to admit it, the thieving knucklehead.  On my Dialarc HF-P there's a decal on the underside of the hinged lower shield on the front face of the machine - work (that's your ground) goes on the left lug, and the electrode goes on the right lug.  You adjust polarity with the upper left throw lever.  You'll most likely be stick-welding on the reverse polarity setting.  These days we call it DCEP (Direct Current Electrode Positive).You can get a free operator's manual for your machine on the Miller website if you haven't already.
