I am proud of this stand I built for my Baileigh Shear, Brake, and Roll. Darn thing weighs 1250 Pounds so it had to be sturdy and I had some material laying around 2/12 Square Tubing 1/4" and some 2" DOM....wheels off of Ebay for $59.00, paint left-over from other project. In fact the only thing I bought for this one was the wheels, everything else was left-overs from other projects... Reply:Very nice! Do you have trouble turning it with 4 solid casters? "Every choice you make will effect at least one other person"
Reply:Need to put some diagonals in there.SIN CITY METAL WORKSvisit my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/devvon
Reply:Nice Job!! You should be proud of it...Thanks for posting. I disagree with the diagonals idea just my opinion

Reply:Hope you don't have to make any sharp turns. might wear the tread of the center set of bogys.  mac
Reply:I'm not knocking your work as it looks well done, but I dont understand your need for rigid casters in the centre (especially the need for a double set)  as the weight of the machine bears on the ends only. Surely those casters are rated higher than 315 lbs each? I also disagree with the need of diagonals with the amount of steel that you have in this - you aren't towing it down the roadGreat looking machine too - how well does it handle a 48" wide piece of 16ga? (If I'm not mistaken, this machine is rated for 16ga)Thermal Arc Fabricator 2101970 Lincoln RedfaceMiller 150 STLStill need a Syncrowave and a plasma and a milling machine and a lathe and a bigger shop and a....
Reply:The wheels can indeed handle much more than 315lbs each. I have a bad habit of over engineering things. Considering the weight of the machine I added the extra wheels. Moreover, I made the four bogies in the middle rigid because when you operate the machine there is a lot of twisting so the bogies prevent the machine from moving while in operation, it works surprisingly well. Plus I figured the extra wheels would make it easier for me to move around the shop, I am a one man show, that is why my tractor in the back-ground is my best friend. You have to be a gorilla to operate with a full sheet of 16gauge. While it is rated up to 16 gauge it is very tough to do by yourself. I am considering mounting a hydraulic motor underneath in the center of the stand with pillow bearings with some 1/2 cold rolled stock, sprockets, and chain mounted in place of the hand operated handles. This way the sprockets mounted on both ends with the motor in the middle chain operated should do a nice job of it, while keeping the torque centered. It will have to be a foot operated actuator, you need both hands to hold the metal in-place until the machine grabs it.Thank you....Life is tough, tougher when your stupid...2xMiller Matic 252Miller PassportSpoolMate 100Miller Dynasty 200dxThermal Dynamics A80-mounted to PlasmaCamThermal Dynamics 52-PortableMiller Trail Blazer 320

Reply:You could probably sell those, I have almost every guy who buys the SBR-5216 asks where they can get a stand.
