Bondng Rubber To Metal

I've got a job that requires rubber pads to be bonded to steel plates. Reply:I use this stuff for bonding neoprene to an aluminum part that I build for rigging.By far the best adhesive I've used for anything like this. It comes in a cartridge that is in two parts and gets automatically mixed in the nozzle. Reply:Prism 410 by Loctite. Properly applied, you will never pull the rubber off. It's what we used bonding rubber pads onto our ground support equipment where it interfaced flight hardware. This is not the same as the home depot double sided stuff competely different.For your application I would use 4952.If you take a couple of 1" x 12 pieces of aluminum, properly apply the above, let it sit 1/2 to 1 hour, and try to take it apart you will damage the metal before you break the bond, its tough stuff.These work best with close celled or medium celled rubbers. If your working with open celled rubber ( spongy ) ZT Fab gave you the right scoop. Hot glue is another option but you need to know which one your using, as these vary widely between types, and usually you need to buy a case which is probably not practical for you.
