Hi Guys,I usually lurk and take in the wealth of information that is graciously provided by so many fellow members. Please forgive me if this is a stupid question but I have searched and cannot find an answer.I own a Millermatic 252 Mig welder and I sometimes go weeks without using it. My question is, when preparing to weld after weeks of non-use, how should I purge the gas line to ensure that when I start to weld I am getting pure inert gas and not the air that is sitting in the line? I know the simple answer is to pull the trigger but I am feeding wire as I purge the line? Is there a way to do this without wasting wire? I usually open the panel up and disconnect the feed rollers and then pull the trigger until I have purged the line but I wonder if there is a better way?My sincerest thanks for any help and/or guidance and my deepest appreciation. BTW, the unit is equipped with a Bernard Q300 Center-Fire Mig gun. Thanks again,Joe...Last edited by jbacc; 11-26-2011 at 07:01 PM.

Reply:Tap the trigger for about 2 seconds. If you cant afford to waste that amount of wire, maybe you need to look at your finances again?Seriously, just tap the trigger and you're good to go.Have we all gone mad?
