i got almost everything i need to put together a scratch start tig sit up on the ideal arc or stickmate. i was looking for tips on doing this ive never even tig welded. what kinda tungstens should i get? what size? reminder i know very basic stuff about tig welding been watching youtube videos like crazy. any help is good help2-Lincoln idealarc 250/250, lincoln 225 ac/dc welder, lincweld ac 180c, hobart handler 210, hobart stickmate lx 235/160, Hypertherm Powermax30local 26 I.B.E.W Electrician

Reply:i prefer red or gold band tungsten though. For scratch start, just make sure you have that SHARP, you want it needle sharp it will make starting the arc so much easier on you. If you keep it sharp and clean you should barely have to touch the tungsten to the work to get the arc going.ESAB MigMaster 275Miller Econotwin HFMiller Syncrowave 250
