So I just got an ln25 off eBay and need to know a few things, first it was an older model and does not have a volt meter. Can I put a volt meter on this welder, do I need one? I am planning to weld in some liners in some scrapers at work. It is 1/2" steel what wire should I get? Where is the best place to get the wire? I am also wondering if there is any kind of special set up to do to hook this up to my Lincoln G9 pro? Thanks Hal....
Reply:You don't need a meter unless you want one. They're options anyway. Go to your local welding supply and establish a relationship if you haven't already done so. .045 flux core wire will do fine on your 1/2" as well as smaller. Will work just as well on thicker material with multiple passes. If this is a cc/cv unit(constant current/constant voltage) your in good shape for any power supply. There should be a cc/cv switch under the lid. See if it has a contactor and solenoid. Does your G9Pro accept CV? If not your feeder will need to be cc or cc/cv. Plug the 25 into your positive cable from your welder for hook-up. Ground as normal and place sensing lead in the vicinity of the ground. The manuals for both are online and I think free at Lincoln Electric. You said it's an older unit so I prolly put in too much info not knowing how old.Arcon Workhorse 300MSPowcon 400SMTPowcon SM400 x 2Powcon SM3001968 SA200 Redface1978 SA250 DieselMiller Super 32P FeederPre 1927 American 14" High Duty LatheK&T Milwaukee 2H Horizontal MillBryan

Reply:I'm not really sure what wire do you use? I have not even got the welder yet. I also ordered a new might gun for it. The might gun is for gas wire I hope its alright to run flux core wire though it . Do I just get different tip with no gas cup like on my mig 140 Lincoln?
Reply:Harold,You do know the LN-25 is not a welder but rather a remote wire feeder that requires a welder to power it right?MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:The T8 wire you are planning to run is large, stiff wire which does not feed well through standard MIG guns. It is typically not available in sizes smaller than 1/16".Since you have already bought a standard gun, you can use the NR-212 or Fabshield 21B wires that CEP recommended. You can also use gas-shielded flux-core wires when you are not working out in the wind.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps

Reply:Lincoln NR - 233. the best if you have the amps NR-211/212. if not. Use a Lincoln or Profax gun.
Reply:Blueweld do not need mix gas for 71 M straight CO2 only D1:5 does not allow it for FCM work.
Reply:Well seems like you know a lot... So the reason we were going to line with 1/2" steel is because we bought 20 4x10 sheets of steel to block mud out of a hole that we are digging and the scrapers are in need of a lining and I guess my boss is cheap and wants to line them with metal when we finish digging hole. I have never done this but I think it is coming up soon so if you could explain the seam stitch and the plug weld procedures. Thanks Hal....
Reply:So I got my ln25 up and running finally after waiting for all my parts to get to me. I am running.045 fab shield 21. So it welds great the only thing I'm having trouble with is can I run my weldanpro G9 pro welder on the idle side and still make that motor rev up with the ln25? If so how do I do this? It says in the manual that if thek431-1 remote output control is installed that I need to put a jump plug t13498-21 . How do I tell if this is why it won't idle my welder up? Any anwsers would be great as long as they work thanks guys... Hal....
Reply:Well one thing is how much clearance is there between the ejector outer edge and the bowl wall inside and are there roller rails on the sides of the bowl walls for the ejector rollers to ride on .. Unless your going to cut the ejector down.to sizeI need to use a computer to show you what I'm talking about when fitting the liner pieces in the bowl and welding the to the walls of the bowlI take it these are cat scrapers 37's or 57's or 31's or 51's ??Or terex scrapers ??Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2Backed my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me What would SATAN do ??
