Best place to get scrap metal in SoCal

Hey guys, I’m very new to this hobby and really want to make myself a welding table to get started, although I don’t want to pay full price at Home Depot. Do you guys know where a good place to get some good scrap metal would be around the orange county area??Thanks!

Reply:+3 on IMS they are great and have a lot of rem pieces...... that place is literally the size of a wallmart they have everything. The prices are not cheap but they are fair.Last weekend I found this place who has so much rems!!!! but its all sitting out side rusting away but its not too bad and they sell at a pretty good price if you want to take the time to clean it. iirc i paid 0.45c/lb for all the steel I wanted. They also have A LOT of aluminum too @ iirc $2/lb. Give them a call tell them the guy who came by to make a welding table last week gave you the number they will take care of you. Reply:Man I don't know what those frames are made of...I modified one of the typical brown painted angle ones for a neighbor once. I started it thinking it would be a simple job of two cuts with a sawzall and two 1/4" holes. It turned into 6 blades and 2 broken bits, which I re sharpened 11 times. That stuff was HARD!
