Side mount brush hog "work in progress"

So I repair and build a bunch of stuff for a local beef farmer. He is a really great guy who I think sometime sits around and thinks of projects for me to do. Often he looks around at his old implements and thinks of new purposes for them. Heres what his lastest idea is. A little crude right now but still a work in progress however it has been used as is for many hours and works like he wants it to. It does need front wheels and will be getting a heavy chain skirt. Reply:ah, I likey....could use that for around my ponds..did the boom for the brush hog come with it or is it a combination of several implaments?Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
Reply:The 3 point hitch mount and the boom were part of a swing out disc mower. The mower head needed bearings and he had two other mowers so this one got taken apart. I just pulled the pin for the mower head so it can be converted back. It does swing behind the tractor for travel. Had to limit the travel on the multi axis pivot. Its been a fun project.

Reply:Nicely done. I'll bet it works real well.I do have a similar problem as shown in the pictures though.Tractor tires 6 feet apart......shredder only capable of 5 feet width. Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call...
