Just something to get another chuckle out of...At about 1:30 you get a better perspective of this guy's working conditions, including his awesome welding helmet, apparently made by the Ray-Ban sunglasses company. At about 3:00, you see the "open-toed" welding "shower shoes" they use over there. I guess there is no OSHA in Saudi Arabia. Reply:I saw it right away. That is not a type 3 ladder. Did I miss anything else?
Reply:Beside all the other problems those are some quick tacks he is laying down. I sure as hell would not walk or hang on to what he has welded. It's like he only had two electrodes to do the entire job.Dan
Reply:I worked with a guy who told me about working in Saudi Arabia as a welder. He said the main contractor had a mandatre to hire a certain percentage of locals for the job. The police would go into the local village to "hire" people. They ended up with a few old guys who could barely lift a shovel working as labourers. The young guys had run away before being spotted. Proper citizens don't do physical work. There is no incentive since the government looks after you. Everyone on that job site was a foreigner. Generations of people have lived in the country working but will never get citizenship. It will be interesting to see what happens when the oil runs out and the government can't hand out money all the time. The USA is almost independent of import oil with the discovery in the Dakotas and Austrailia has a huge find that makes Saudi Arabia look like rain puddle.
Reply:So wrong for so many reasons!
Reply:I like how when he welds the bottom side of that pipe/tube he is in no way capable of seeing it, just sticks the rod in there and makes sparks and assumed he welded both pieces. I could have used some of those welding goggle ray bans last night when I was wedged up under the dash of my street rod welding radio mounts in though... Hood was too big for the space.

Reply:Hey, with all those tacks, think about how much they are saving on rods!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:The first thing I noticed was that he was standing on what he was tacking!! Well, that and the ladder.
Reply:Priceless!
