Well since we moved back to Idaho I figured I'd better find a snow plow for my old Suzuki. Hauled a load of crap to the dump and lo and behold, a wheeler snow plow. Awfully rusty and pitted some but otherwise in good shape. The price is right so home it goes. The first two are the before pics. The next is the mounting bracket I had to build to attach it to Suzi. The next shows the push frame bent like they always do. Next shows how to beef it up so it won't bend so easy. The next shows the plug welds on the back side of the push frame. Next had to cut the back end of the swing frame on an arc so I can install a dog to keep it from bending down and also shows the reinforcing block for the swing lock pin so it won't egg shape the hole. Next shows how I attach a nylon dog leash to the winch drum to lift the plow. I did this when I lived here before and it works sweet, no more chewed up winch cable!!    Next shows the reinforcing blocks on the bottom of the swing frame for the lock pin. Next is a pic of the Flood Penetrol which I've found makes an excellent and tough primer for bare metal.  Next is it all together except for new trip springs which I have to go find.   Last is the front of the moldboard w/ new paint over penetrol.  Counting the qt. of black paint I had to buy and the extra iron, I've got about $30 in it. I'm guessing the trip springs and eyebolts will be another $20. A new plow is $300-$400.                                       MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:Aren't you working a little out of season? Nobody thinks about the plow until the first flakes start falling. Good find. Do you have a picture with it on the machine?
Reply:No, Suzi's up on blocks getting a top end rebuild.                                       MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:Thanks, guys! I remembered one small detail after I got it all together, I have to build and install some skid shoes for each end!!!! Now I have to burn some paint and repaint. Oh well, I need to wait 'til I have the blade on and Suzi sitting on the concrete to find the angle I need to mount the shoes at. I think I have plenty of time before snow flies,LOL!! I'm not usually one to procrastinate. Suzi's on the blocks because the compression got low enough she wouldn't start at much below 25* F.                                              MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
