Reply:Thanks.Lots of battle scars on old buildings in Europe from WW II. They still routinely dig up unexploded ordinance  and fragments in cities and fields, some in France from as far back as WW I..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan

Reply:jdh239 The third photo is not the foundation.   The USSR, has/had abundant Chromium and Nickel depositsand were exhaustively utilized in the Cold War building boom.Aluminum was so rare it was worn as jewelry by the CzarinaAlexandra, pre-1917. It's S/S, and a structure of this magnitude [modern] is not going to be placed on a stacked stone [dated] foundation.  You are looking at history.Poland was the most destroyed country in WWII.  First by the   Wehrmacht, next by Red Army, again by the Wehrmacht, andlastly by the Red Army.Of the millions killed, there were really only two players, Hitler and Stalin.Unfortunately, photo #3, wasn't the last war pocked building in history.  They are still being made.OpusLast edited by OPUS FERRO; 08-21-2012 at 11:21 PM.
