Wanted to be a little more mobile with my welder. I just picked up this tool cart about a week ago. Today I built on this shelf on the side to hold my gas. I made this to bolt up to stock bolt holes so when I decide to take it off the cart wont be affected. Only one weld shot because the wind kept blowing my cover gas. Attached Images

Reply:Nice cart. I like bolting on when possible especially when trying out new ideas. Easy to remove or modify the design that way. Good job!Millermatic 211Hobart Stickmate LXO/A Rig
Reply:I LOVE those harbor freight service carts.  I get a $99 coupon almost once a month for them.  Surprisingly well built, and just the right size to keep your most common hand tools. Nice modification too!  I thought about adding a tank rack to one of mine and using it as a MIG cart, but I wasn't too keen on having the welder underneath.  Instead I bought a small bottom cabinet with 3 drawers and the big "garage door" compartment, ditched the cheap casters, and made an angle iron chassis with nice wheels.  Tank fits on the end, welder sits on top, and plenty of drawer space for all the accessories, with room in the bottom to keep extra 10# spools.PS... You might brush up on your surface prep for welding.  Millscale is bad enough to MIG through, but rust... Eek.  Especially if you're cleaning it up to paint anyway, you might as well do it prior to welding.Last edited by anickode; 09-11-2012 at 09:52 PM.You didn't build that.'85 Miller AEAD-200LE

Reply:Do you have any problem with that much weight on one end of the cart?  I have the HF 5-drawer cart (and it is GREAT), and I used to have the 7-drawer end cabinet on one side of it, but it nearly lifted the wheels off the ground on the other end (I suppose your welder is pretty good ballast, though)Neat idea.  Thanks for posting.KevKevin / Machine_Punk from The Aerodrome Studio - Lincoln PowerMIG 210 MP - Meco N Midget w/custom welding station - Vintage Victor 100Current Projects: The Aerodrome Studio

Reply:I like your bottle shelf, but you bottle looks to have a lot of room to move with that chain arrangement. I know it won't fall off, but I like mine more rigid with either a clamp or some sort of a turnbuckle. Good job.
