You guys know what I'm talking about, if not see herehttp://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...on-my-TungstenWell when I was moving things around in my garage I had an idea to prevent this. I bought an HTP super dry filter.http://www.usaweld.com/Super-Dry-for...p/superdry.htmor you can use one from harbor freighthttp://www.harborfreight.com/inline-...l#.Uy4NnvldX2oGot the filter and grabbed my gas hose and off to home depot I went. Found 2 fittings to thread into the filter, with a 1/8" barb fitting on the other end. Been running this setup on the welder for awhile now. I probably have 20-30 hours of use on it. I haven't seen a single beard or fuzzy on my tungsten since. Mainly at 140amps, AC, and a very little DC welding. Also keep in mind the superdry doesn't matter which way air/gas flow is. Just watch the sight glass and when the desiccant turns white throw it out. I also keep the small bag of desiccant that comes with my mig wire inside my mig welder to prevent moisture killing my wire.So total investment was about $15 and no fuzzy tungsten and no need to worry about moisture getting through my tig torch. Win, win. Discuss. Anyone see any downfall to this approach? I watched jodys video and it seemed like a lot of work compared to spending $8-$9 on a filter and $5 on fittings and calling it a day.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Doesn't say Miller or Lincoln on it - obviously won't work and is therefore a waste of time....Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
