Couple years ago came across a Syncrowave 351 that was too cheap. Sent it to miller service center for a repair estimate came back 2 weeks later repaired for $225.00 The labor for certifying, cleaning, adjusting HF spark gaps and installing a new main PC board. That board is over $800. Called the shop and repairman said Miller had problems with those boards and replacement was free. OK I have located another 351, cheap, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this board recall, replacement, or whatever. I called the repair shop and the new service tech was no help. The 351 was only produced 2 or 3 years so how can I find out if there is a recall or something like that. I have searched and come up with nothing. Lincoln MK 250, Syncrowayve 351, Cutmaster 151, SA 250D, bobcat 225 and want more.4 Daughters, 6 cats, 1 dog, 1 wife and don't want anymore.

If there was a recall or other kind of assistance available, my guess is they'll let you know.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Hi I was wondering how you made out with this issue, I am looking to purchase a 351 tomorrow for 1,700 bucks. it comes with a water cooled torch, & cart. I was leaning toward this machine or a new Lincoln Precision TIG 225. Not sure what to do.... What are your thoughts I am a hobbiest for the most part but I intend to get into some fabrication.
Reply:Haven't found out anything yet other than there are 2 part #'s for 351 main boards. the 2nd replaced the first and was introduced after or late in the manufacture of this model. My machine has the new board part # in it. This is what they replaced. I took the deal on the other one, not working, cuz for the price ill use it for parts. I did notice it has the old board #. I get nothing from Miller. There is a guy on e-bay that says he's a Miller tech and advertises these boards he rebuilds. I was thinking about contacting him. Just search for Syncrowave 351 and you will find him. As for the 351, I have had it for 2.5+ years now, never missed a beat, welds like a champ. Good arc control nice on aluminum, I'm pleased with it. Just worried about parts, Miller does not sell some parts for it anymore. I'm looking for a Pulser option, can't find one. But I keep looking. BTY be sure you have the power to run this puppy. It takes a 125 amp breaker I think, before I ran new wire and disconnect to it I had it on a 60 amp and it would trip it frequently at 150+ amps dc. I direct wired a 125 breaker with disconnect dedicated to the machine. No problems since. I can turn it up and air/arc at 375+ and the sparks will fly. I can also weld 2 beer cans together, little tuff with no pulse but can do. And that's my 2 sense. Hope it helpsLincoln MK 250, Syncrowayve 351, Cutmaster 151, SA 250D, bobcat 225 and want more.4 Daughters, 6 cats, 1 dog, 1 wife and don't want anymore.
Reply:As for info on the machine, maybe try posting on the Miller site. There's a member who goes by ''CRUIZER '' who may help. http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...ng-Discussions |
