Indoor Welding & Soldering Air Quality Regulations from OSHA

Hello,This is Rex M owner of ?????????????????????.  We've seen a lot of discussions and taken quite a few calls lately concerning what the regulations are for clean air / ventilation in welding & soldering shops, does OSHA really issue citations and fines for non-compliance, etc.  It appears that many welders and shop owners either aren't aware of the regulations, don't really care, or just don't know where to find out what to do. The problem is that many shop owners are getting fined and this is unnecessary.OSHA is a Federal organization monitoring many areas of workplace safety (including air quality) and has jurisdiction in every state, unless they have a state-administered program, and those regulations are often more strict than the Federally administered areas. You can see this at https://www.osha.gov/dcsp/osp/index.html  Click on your area and keep clicking until you see the local office number and you can call them for clarification on regulations. And we'll agree--trying to sort through OSHA's standards for clear information is like finding a needle in a haystack--quite difficult, to say the least. We're in contact with OSHA on a weekly basis for updates, etc (waiting for a new update coming out tomorrow) for the NY area, but the general guidelines are very simple: if you're doing indoor welding and don't have adequate ventilation and /or air cleaners removing the harmful chemicals from the air your employees are breathing, you're in trouble if they catch you--and the fines can be in the thousands of dollars, not to mention all the other problems. Our job at Air Purifiers and ??????????? is two-fold--to help share useful information to help shop owners prevent health problems, avoid OSHA fines, and provide discounted air cleaning systems to ensure clean air. We have everything you need to achieve and maintain OSHA compliance as well as air filtration experts on hand to answer questions. Reply:Spam posts, no matter how helpful, create a negative customer reaction, and damage customer relations, rather than buuilding them. As Duane mentioned, going through the proper steps is the best way to build positive relationships. Another is to become a regular, frequent contributor (NOT lurker) on this board in appropriate air quality threads. Yes, it is time consuming, but good customer service and potential customer relationship-building always is, and pays off in the end.That said, your potential clientele is pretty geographically limited on an international forum such as this. Reply:Yup, he tromped all over them. The IPhone posts are spam and I delete and ban immediately. Others, I'll subscribe to, issue a warning and monitor. May have been an innocent mistake. Honestly, have you fully read all Terms of Service for every forum, software or what ever you have installed?If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
