Any personal reccomendations for welding supplies and gas in Columbus, Ohio? I will need to get a bottle. Bought and Eastwood 135 today. Should be here Friday.Google comes up with several small and national stores but all are a 20 30 min drive from the west side so looking to avoid lots of driving if possible.
Reply:Valley Gases is closer, but better put Aluminum foil around Your wallet as they seem to be the most expensive around. they seem to know the limit on peoples credit card.
Reply:thanks
Reply:hey I found the same problems here in cbus, plus all the welding shops are open M-F 8 - 4:30 at the latest, for someone who works how the hell do you get there? and isent that mig welder and are you trying to run straight argon??
Reply:I'm fortunate that I can run out at lunch to get it.I'm going down to Central Ohio Welding Supply tomorrow. Private owned company. Seemed very nice on the phone. Even suggested instead of buying a 20cf tank from him for 130.00 plus the gas, to take a 25% coupon to Harbor Freight and buy the tank there for $76 then he would just charge me the exchange for $28. He even said I could come by the store and he would give me a coupon.I will be getting 75/25.I am planning on mild steel right now.

Reply:That is all I can afford right now. Im just getting started though. Later down the road if I find I am blowing through it I will upgrade, but I am planning very small stuff. sheet metal stuff acually.
Reply:I took a 330 to Valley National Gases and they charged Me $104 for the first tank, complained about price the second time and they made it $98 and kept my 330 and gave me a 300. The 330 was private owner and the 300 is a Delille which is supposedly obesolete. The Lancaster Delille store will not fill it. Will take it to Columbus to see if I can get it filled there. Pressure stamp is still good.
Reply:Are these near you ? Check to see that your supplier would take them in trade for what you want. http://dayton.craigslist.org/tls/4349972068.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/tls/4387775810.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/tls/4392008035.html
Reply:Cetnral Ohio Welding supply will take them as long as they are not needing tested.I already have my 20CF and exhcanged it there last night. :-)I am being pretty cheap about it. It may cost me more long term if I have to go to a bigger tank, but I want to get started sooner than coming up with the more cash up front.
Reply:Just tryin to help. Those are some great prices. The one seller has small tanks too. |
